Clean Eating Banana Cookies

I just had to re-post these.  I made them again today and I added some vanilla protein powder, amping up their nutrition value!  Great for an after work-out treat!

These healthy little cookies are not only tasty, but they came together in a snap.

Moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of chocolate to tame your sweet tooth.

Sometimes I get so caught up in the “but they are healthy, so I’ll eat five!” that I really had to watch myself on these little guys.  So my warning to you… careful!

In a medium-sized bowl mash the bananas with the back of a fork, then add in the remaining ingredients.  Stir until all is incorporated.  It will look a little “wet” but that is how it is supposed to look.

I used a small scooper, which was about 2 tablespoons for each cookie.  Place the measured out cookie onto a parchment lined cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes.

Tada, in less than a half an hour you have a great little snack to get you through your day.

No feeling guilty on these, unless you have five…..then you can feel guilty!

Clean Eating Banana Cookies

2 large bananas, must be very ripe, mashed
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup honey
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips or regular sized will do, too
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

In a medium bowl mash bananas until pureed.  Add the rest of the ingredients and blend.  The batter should be pretty wet.  Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.  Makes 16 cookies.

I am finally getting serious about my weight loss efforts and wanted something to have with a cup of tea in the afternoon that would replace my “junk food” craving!! These came together so quickly and are fabulous! Only problem is, my kids and husband think they are awesome as well!!!! Oh well, just have to keep making them, I would rather they have something good and wholesome and not something processed!!!

  3. Love these! But had no honey or chocolate chips this AM so I subbed in light molasses and raisins! Worked great and I’ll bet they’re still on the wholesome side :) Delish!
